Triangle Attack/Defence
Overview:
Class 13 Triangle Attack/Defence
Warmups: Triangle locks, elevated triangle locks, guard squaring drill, shelfing hips drill.
Part 1 - Front triangle choke from closed guard (XX:25)
Part 1.1: Finishing a triangle choke from triangle trap position.
Starting with partner already in triangle trap position. (left arm in)
Use legs to pull them down and grab shin with right hand.
Scoop their leg with left arm and use your right foot on their hip to create perpindicular angle.
Lock up triangle with legs.
Squeeze legs to finish (toes up, heels back, pinch knees)
Part 1.2: Using wrist and collar tie to set up triangle from closed guard.
Starting in closed guard with double wrist control.
Switch right grip to collar tie.
As you pull their head forward, push their hand in between legs by opening and closing guard momentarily to get to triangle trap.
Continue from Part 1.1.
Part 2 - Triangle choke early prevention (XX:45)
Part 2.1: Extracting arm out from the triangle trap.
Starting with partner already in triangle trap position. (left arm in)
Posture up and shelf their hips with your knees.
Frame trapped arm across their hips for control.
Controlling hips, angle to the left to create space to feed right hand through.
Grab left wrist with right hand.
Pull left arm out using right hand.
Scoop both legs and lock hips with gable grip.
Part 2.2: Inserting arm back in when can't extract arm out from the triangle trap.
Starting with partner already in triangle trap position. (left arm in)
Posture up and shelf their hips with your knees.
Frame trapped arm across their hips for control.
Controlling hips, angle to the left to create space to feed right hand through.
When left wrist is controlled, force elbow through, then shoulder through by squaring up.
*Part 2.3: Adding in the double scoop stack pass after extracting arms.
Starting on knees with partner laying flat on back.
Scoop both legs and lock hips with gable grip.
Posture up and shelf their hips with your knees.
Bow head forward to bring their knees to their chin while you elevate your butt into tripod position.
Grab their trap with left hand to maintain the pressure.
Circle feet clockwise (left) till their near leg passes across face.
Finish in side control with hands at 10-4.
*Part 2.4: Drilling extracting arms out straight into double scoop stack pass.

Situational:
Starting in triangle trap position.
A-person (bottom) wins by getting a tap with a triangle choke finish.
B-person (top) wins by preventing the triangle choke either by:
Extracting both arms out to double leg scoop position (no need to pass)
Inserting both arms in.
