Closed Guard Part 1
Overview:
Class 6 Closed Guard Part 1
Warmups: Armdrags to back from standing. Perpendicular angle drill from Closed Guard. (8-10 mins)
Part 1 - Armdrag to back control from close guard (XX:25)
Part 1.1: Armdrag and climb to back control
Establish grips = wrist + tricep
Drag and pull with legs to connect chest to shoulder deltoid
Reach over back and grab opposite lat
Shimmy hips out till your farside foot is between their legs
Climb and connect chest to back and insert second hook
* Part 1.2: Flattening opponent
Starting from belly down back control with seat belt
Switch to double unders double wrist control
Straighten legs keep souls of feet together
* Part 1.3: Pulling opponent down into back control
Establish grips = wrist + tricep
Drag and pull with legs to connect chest to shoulder deltoid
Reach over back and grab opposite lat
Shimmy hips out till your farside foot is between their legs
Hip escape to create landing space
Use lat grip to pull opponents hips into space
Establish both hooks and seatbelt control
Part 2 - Pendulum sweep from close guard (XX:45)
Part 2.1: Getting the pendulum without swinging back leg
Establish grips = wrist + tricep
Drag and pull with legs to connect chest to shoulder deltoid
Reach over back and grab opposite lat (or shoulder trap/neck)
Place far foot on grount to pivot perpindiculr + scoop leg + knee bend in their armpit,
Straighten armpit leg to off balance
Move other leg over face to finish in armbar position
* Part 2.2: Getting the pendulum swinging back leg to finish in mount
Establish grips = wrist + tricep
Drag and pull with legs to connect chest to shoulder deltoid
Reach over back and grab opposite lat (or shoulder trap/neck)
Place far foot on grount to pivot perpindiculr + scoop leg + knee bend in their armpit,
Straighten armpit leg to off balance + swinging leg back to avoid leg being trapped
Consolidate mount position
Situational:
Starting from armdrag and lat grip
A-person (bottom) has to take back, get sweep
B-person (top) has to square up and escape the armdrag
