Escaping Rev. Sit-out/North South
Overview:
Class 9 Escaping Rev. Sitout / N.S.
Warmups: Focus on backward shoulder rolls, hip escapes using partners shins, bridging side to side, bucking.
Part 1 - Escaping Reverse Sitout (XX:25)
Part 1.1: Elbow escape to back take.
Starting in bottom side control, frames in.
*Opponent sits out towards feet* - keeping frames on their back.
Hip escape to create space and slide knee through under ribs.
Adjust hips, pummel feet and seatbelt to get back control
Part 1.2: Adding a buck to swim arms to back.
Starting in reverse sitout with arms under on other side.
Buck to create space to get arms and frames in place.
Hip escape to create space and slide knee through under ribs.
Adjust hips, pummel feet and seatbelt to get back control
Part 2 - Escaping North South (XX:42)
Part 2.1: Creating space to get legs in.
Starting in bottom north south, frames in.
Press up using frames to create space.
Back shoulder roll and aim for one knee on collar bone, other calf on side of neck (with a half spin).
Use legs to create more space to square up.
Finish in close guard.
* Part 2.2: Working to get frames in.
Starting in bottom north south with arms floating outside.
Place hands on opponents ribs/chest.
Buck hips to throw opponent up slightly using hands to help elevate.
Bring elbows in to create frames before they drop back down.
Continue with Part 2.1.
Situational:
Starting from side control in reverse sitout.
A-person (top) can only transition between reverse sitout and north south and ultimately looking to mount.
B-person (bottom) tries to improve their position by taking the back (reverse sitout), guard retention from north south, or guard retention if they try and mount.
